Summary: Over 3 million documents released by the U.S. Justice Department on Saturday, January 31, 2026, contain evidence that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked girls and young women to other men for sexual abuse, including disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and financier Leon Black
On Saturday, Jan 31, 2026, newly released documents linked to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein revealed allegations that he may have trafficked girls and young women to other men, raising questions about claims by U.S. authorities that there was insufficient evidence to investigate third parties connected to his crimes.
The disclosure, which includes more than three million files, contains FBI materials, court documents and internal prosecution records that suggest possible involvement of other individuals in Epstein’s sexual abuse network. Previous document releases and court filings have also pointed to potential third-party participation involving Epstein and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.
According to The Guardian, a prosecution memorandum dated Jan. 26, 2021, one survivor reported that Maxwell told her Epstein had left his home but that a friend was staying who she could massage. The survivor said the man later offered her money in exchange for sex, which she said she accepted. The memorandum states that when shown a photograph of former movie producer Harvey Weinstein, the survivor identified him as the individual involved. The names of the assistant U.S. attorneys who signed the document were redacted.
Authorities have not clarified the extent to which these allegations were investigated. Harvey Weinstein was not charged in connection with Epstein-related conduct and has denied wrongdoing through his representatives.
An FBI presentation included in the document release also listed Leon Black, a financier, on a page titled “Prominent Names.” The document did not indicate that authorities had verified the listed allegations. One file stated that the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office had begun looking into claims involving Black, though the office declined to comment. Black has not been criminally charged in relation to Epstein and has denied all allegations through legal counsel.
Survivors’ legal representatives said the documents reinforce long-standing accounts that Epstein trafficked girls and young women to other men. Attorneys also raised concerns about how authorities handled investigations into possible third-party involvement and the continued redaction of names in the released files.
While officials have previously stated that Epstein did not routinely traffic victims to others, the newly released documents have renewed scrutiny of how authorities assessed and investigated allegations involving additional perpetrators.
