Naija Feminists Media (NFM) is set to host an X (formerly Twitter) space on Friday, January 31, 2025, by 5 pm to commemorate the International Day of Education, which was celebrated on Jan. 24, 2025.
The discussion, themed Translating Women’s Educational Excellence in Mass Communications to Leadership Position in Newsroom, will highlight Unilag mass communications female students’ academic excellence and centre on how newsroom’s leadership can be gender inclusive.
The event will feature a panel of journalists, educationalists, women’s rights advocates, mass communication graduates, and media executives who will share their expertise on the intersection between education, media, and gender equality.
This initiative builds on NFM’s previous activities to commemorate the International Day of Education, which include publishing a media literacy article to empower girls in the current era of Artificial Intelligence and raising funds to support a first-class Mass Communication student at Lead City University. The organisation donated and helped raise over N486,275 for the student’s 300-level school fees.
NFM encourages the public to join the conversation to share insights and solutions for advancing education in Nigeria.
