Sexual violence against girls and women remains a systemic issue in Nigeria. According to a UNICEF report, one in three Nigerian girls experiences sexual violence before the age of 15. Girls with disabilities and those living in rural communities are at greater risk. The perpetrators are often family members or intimate partners who are meant to protect and care for them.
