Summary
A Nigerian TikToker known as Peller has garnered widespread criticism for demanding that his fellow TikToker and girlfriend, Jarvis, obey him, among other rules. Social media users have called his conditions controlling, evidencing how misogynistic content affects young males.
Nigerians on social media have raised concerns after TikToker Peller shared a list of ten strict rules his fellow TikToker and girlfriend, Jarvis, must follow in their relationship.
He shared the rules on Sept. 17, 2025, as conditions for him to unblock her and for their relationship to continue, suggesting a break-up.
The rules included demands such as Jarvis never allowing men, including family members, to touch her, training only with women at the gym, not hosting male visitors past 10 p.m., and refraining from creating content with male skit makers unless he was present. He also insisted that Jarvis do everything he asks and respect him.
The rules have drawn criticism online, with many social media users describing them as controlling and rooted in red-pill ideology.
@mao_0k, a Twitter user, warned that many were taking Peller’s behaviour too casually, adding: “When we talk about the radicalisation of Gen Z boys, this is what it looks like.”
“This is what lack of self-confidence and low self-esteem can cause,” @talk2_joseph said.
In response to Peller’s rules, Jarvis advised him to focus on his hygiene and continue blocking her if it would “give him peace.”
