Olajumoke Orisaguna, the former bread seller whose unexpected appearance in a 2016 photoshoot catapulted her to fame, has shared her struggles and allegations of exploitation in the entertainment industry. Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, Olajumoke revealed that many high-profile opportunities she participated in were unpaid, despite public claims suggesting otherwise.
Olajumoke recounted her experience with singer Harrysong, alleging she was not compensated for her appearance in his “Chacha” music video. “I went to Harrysong’s house in Lekki did a dance for him in his video. He claimed he paid me N400,000 according to a written statement, but it is false; I did it for free. He didn’t pay me anything,” she narrated while adding that she could not verify at the time as she was unable to read.
She further disclosed other instances where she felt exploited, including a job that required international travel but paid her just N200,000. “They used me for work and didn’t pay me. One paid me N200,000 after taking me to South Africa for work,” Olajumoke added.
Olajumoke’s story gained global attention in 2016 when she accidentally walked into a photoshoot by renowned Nigerian photographer TY Bello, who was capturing British-Nigerian rapper Tinie Tempah.
