Speaking directly to the public, Regina said she did not initially plan to address the allegation again, explaining that she usually leaves her battles to God. However, she said the new year brought clarity and made her realise that she could no longer allow the accusation to linger over her name as a public figure. She added that undergoing the test was not only about her reputation, but about reassuring those who support her and protecting her children’s future, stressing that she wanted them to grow up knowing their mother was not a drug addict.

The drug test follows a highly publicised marital dispute between Regina and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. The controversy began when Regina publicly accused Nwoko of domestic abuse, alleging that she experienced violence during the marriage.
