Seyi Vibez Deletes Misogynistic Post Against Hilda Baci After Legal Intervention

Afolabi Oluwaseyi Balogun, popularly known as Seyi Vibez, has deleted misogynistic and defamatory posts targeting Guinness World Record-holding chef Hilda Baci, following a formal legal intervention by her legal team at Olaniwun Ajayi LP.

On August 14, 2026, Seyi Vibez published two posts on X targeting Hilda Baci in the middle of his public dispute with Dapper Music CEO Damilola Akinwunmi. In the first post, he wrote, 

“Na Hilda Baci BBL all una catalogue money dey go. All of una dey craze and una mama.” In the second, he claimed that Dapper had given him food prepared by Hilda and that the food “almost kill me,” attaching an allegation of spiritual manipulation to the claim. 

The posts collectively attracted approximately 4.3 million views, 7,100 reposts, 3,000 comments and 45,000 likes, and triggered a wave of online harassment directed at the chef.

Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, is a Nigerian celebrity chef, Guinness World Record holder, and entrepreneur. She was not a party to the dispute between Seyi Vibez and Dapper Music but became a target because of her relationship with Damilola Akinwunmi, the music executive at the centre of the controversy. Seyi Vibez was signed to Dapper Music in 2022.

Consequently, Hilda Baci’s legal team at Olaniwun Ajayi LP issued a formal demand letter on August 15, 2026, citing defamation, malicious content, and potential violations of Nigeria’s Cybercrimes Act. 

The lawyers demanded the immediate and permanent deletion of both posts, a public apology and retraction published across all of Seyi Vibez’s social media platforms, and a call from him to his followers to stop the harassment directed at their client. “Within three days of your receipt of this letter, we further demand that you provide a written undertaking confirming that you shall henceforth cease from publishing or communicating any defamatory content concerning our client.”

Seyi Vibez initially dismissed the letter on X, writing “As I see the letter, laugh wan kill me,” before deleting the posts. He has not yet issued the public apology demanded by Hilda’s legal team.
