The Global Excellence Summit & Awards (GESA) is an international platform celebrating trailblazers across diplomacy, business, advocacy, and innovation. It seeks to spotlight individuals whose work advances equity, transformation, and sustainable impact.
GESA praised Simbiat for her “exceptional contributions, leadership, and influence,” noting that her work reflects the values of excellence, innovation, and global impact that the platform seeks to recognise.
Simbiat joined a distinguished list of nominees whose contributions have shaped industries and communities across Africa and beyond. The Award is set to take place on May 24, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Founder of Naija Feminists Media (NFM), Simbiat leads a coalition of feminist journalists and advocates who use media and technology to amplify women’s voices and tackle complex gender issues. Through NFM, she has built a platform that challenges patriarchal narratives in mainstream media and brings critical attention to stories of women, girls, and marginalised communities.
Her nomination adds to a growing list of honours that celebrate her groundbreaking work. Simbiat has previously received the She Global Award, was named among “She Leads Africa’s 50 under 30.” She has also received several prestigious recognitions including the African Fact-Checking Awards, DUBAWA Fact Check Awards, True Story Award, and the OMA Awards.
With over a decade of impactful journalism, Simbiat’s bylines span notable platforms such as Premium Times, The Nation, and Modern Ghana, where she has consistently centered women in national conversations.
