Nigerian makeup artist Theresa Emegwara, popularly known as Tesglam, has officially set a new Guinness World Record by completing a 146-hour continuous makeup application marathon in Lagos.

The record-breaking feat took place in August 2025 during the Glam 4–144 event at Landmark Boulevard, where Tesglam worked for six consecutive days, applying makeup to more than 200 faces. Her marathon surpassed the previous record of 103 hours held by a Ghanaian makeup artist.

During the event, Tesglam received support from volunteers, models, and fans online, and even welcomed a visit from the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth, who later sent a congratulatory message after her record was validated. Landmark Boulevard hosted the event, providing the space and logistical support required for the extended session.

Reflecting on her achievement, Tesglam credited the collective effort behind the marathon.

“I didn’t do this alone. From the Landmark team to the volunteers, models, and everyone cheering online, this record belongs to all of us,” she said.

Following weeks of verification, Guinness World Records officially confirmed the feat, presenting Tesglam with a plaque and medal.

Known for her work across fashion, editorial projects, brand campaigns, and creative direction, Tesglam sees this record as the start of a new chapter in her career. She plans to focus on training, mentorship, and community-driven beauty initiatives, aiming to create platforms where Nigerian talent can grow and gain global recognition.

“This record represents discipline, faith, and the power of community,” she said. “I hope to create platforms where Nigerian talent can grow and be recognised globally.”

Tesglam’s achievement adds to Nigeria’s growing presence in Guinness World Records within the beauty industry. In October 2025, reality TV star Anita Natacha Akide, also known as Tacha, set two Guinness World Records in Lagos: the most cosmetic makeovers completed in 8 hours (82 people) and in 24 hours (144 people).
