Summary

A Nigerian woman has claimed that one of her twin babies was stolen during childbirth at a hospital in Delta State.

A Nigerian woman by the name Eunice Bright is seeking justice after being denied one of her twin babies following childbirth at a hospital in Delta State.

According to Eunice, multiple ultrasound scans consistently showed she was pregnant with twins. However, during delivery, only one baby was presented to her. When she inquired about the second child, hospital staff  gave conflicting explanations—at one point, a nurse told her the twin had “scattered.”

The woman claims that after requesting copies of her scan results, hospital staff said the documents had been burned. Her husband, who was initially confused after receiving only one child, later got a WhatsApp message from the attending doctor congratulating him on the birth of “two bouncing baby boys.”

Years later, the mother says she saw a child who resembled her son at an immunisation centre—same face, nose, and features. She also noticed the child wasn’t being breastfed and appeared neglected. Her suspicions deepened when the woman caring for the child admitted she hadn’t been breastfeeding “since giving birth.”

Despite the emotional toll, the mother remains determined to uncover the truth about her missing child. “All my scans showed twins,” she said. “But the day I gave birth, they only handed me one baby.”

The woman is calling on authorities to investigate the hospital and help reunite her with her missing child.
