Nigerian Afrobeats star, Tiwa Savage, has officially launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a philanthropic initiative dedicated to nurturing emerging African creators across the continent. This is in partnership with Berklee College, the world’s largest independent college of music, famous for its courses in jazz, modern American music, rock, hip hop, and reggae.
According to the music star’s announcement on February 25, 2026, on her X page, the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation is a “new initiative dedicated to empowering emerging African creatives through access, mentorship and world-class music education.”
The philanthropic initiative is dedicated to training and empowering the next generation of African music creators. It’s a landmark partnership that will bring the prestigious Berklee College of Music to Lagos and West Africa for the first time. It features a four-day training programme that is fully funded and free for selected participants. Interested participants are to apply from February 24 to March 20, 2026.
“After years of building globally, it’s time to build at home,” the Afrobeats singer stated.
The training will be held from April 23 to 26, 2026, and is for 100 emerging Nigerian music creators. Selected participants will be trained in music production, songwriting, harmony, ear training and sound engineering, alongside sessions on music publishing, copyright and aspects of entertainment law. Excellent participants would be considered for future scholarships to study at Berklee in Boston or enrol in its online courses. The training will conclude with live performances.
