2027 General Elections: Dr. Nita Byack George to Run for House of Rep in Kaduna

Summary: Hon. Dr. Nita Byack George is set to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Jaba and Zangon Kataf LGAs in Kaduna State under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria’s 2027 general elections. She brings extensive experience in governance, public service and advocacy.
With the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing the timetable for the 2027 general elections, political aspirants have begun to declare their intentions to run. One of whom is Hon. Dr Nita Byack George, poised to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Jaba and Zangon Kataf Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Kaduna State. Jaba and Zangon Kataf are neighbouring LGAs located in the southern part of Kaduna State.
Hon. Nita will contest under the All Progressives Congress (APC) political party. She is a seasoned politician, administrator, and development specialist with extensive experience in public service, civil society and social advocacy.
She previously served as Sole Administrator of Jaba Local Government Area (2021–2024), overseeing key sectors including agriculture, forestry, and health. She has also held leadership roles such as President of the Initiative for Women and Child Development and Chairperson of the Nigerian Youth Champions for Universal Health, in addition to civil society engagement in peace, health financing, advocacy, and strategic partnerships.
She currently serves as a Permanent Member of the Kaduna State Senior Secondary Schools Education Board and brings a wide range of expertise as a chartered administrator, policy strategist, filmmaker, and multimedia producer.
Hon. Nita’s previous roles include Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture, Forestry, and Health in Jaba Local Government, Secretary of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (2013–2017), and President of the Initiative for Women and Child Development (2010–2021).
She holds an Honorary Doctorate in Public Sector Administration, a Master of Arts in Society and Development, a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, a Diploma in Law, and a Certificate in Leadership, Strategy and Development. Her work has earned her multiple recognitions, including the Award of Excellence from the African Centre for Leadership Strategy and Development and the COWAP Award for Girl Child Education.
With a solid record in governance, advocacy, and leadership, Hon. Nita Byack George is positioned as a strong candidate to represent Jaba and Zangon Kataf at the national level. The Presidential and National Assembly polls are set for January 16, 2027, followed by the Governorship and State Assembly elections on February 6, 2027.
