The Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASUED) has announced plans to confer an honorary doctorate degree on Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, during its 17th convocation ceremony. The announcement was made through the university’s official social media handles on Monday, January 19, 2026.
According to the university’s statement, Senator Tinubu will receive a Doctor of Science (D.Sc. Ed.) Honoris Causa in Childhood Education, recognising her advocacy for women, children, and youth, particularly through initiatives promoting education, healthcare, and social development.
The convocation ceremony is scheduled to take place between Friday, January 23, and Thursday, January 29, 2026 and will include the conferment of higher degrees, diplomas, first degrees, and honorary awards on undergraduates and postgraduates.
