- NFM Partners with Femrivied to Launch RediscoverHer Initiative
Naija Feminists Media (NFM) has partnered with Femrivied to co-host RediscoverHer, a month-long empowerment initiative for African women who have stepped away from the workplace and lost touch with their identity, ambitions or career direction due to marriage, caregiving or social expectations.
Set to launch in March, the programme will help participants reconnect with their identity, rebuild confidence, and access mentorship, skills, and support for personal, professional, and socio-economic growth.

Omotayo Sanusi, the owner of Iyan Aladuke restaurant and the former wife of Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo, accused him of deploying 20 armed men to evict her from the restaurant.

Nigerian singer Simi criticised men who complain about being ignored when their wives give birth, stating that the period after childbirth is not about the father. The singer made this known in a video posted on her Instagram page on Tuesday, January 28, 2026, weeks after welcoming twin babies with her husband, Adekunle Gold. She questioned why men expect attention when women have risked their lives and endured months of physical trauma during pregnancy and delivery.

NFM founder and investigative journalist Simbiat Bakare has been shortlisted for the 2026 True Story Awards for the second consecutive year for her investigation into surrogacy exploitation and misinformation in Nigeria.
She earned her latest nomination for an investigative report titled “How Facebook misinformation, legal loopholes throw Nigerian women into surrogacy ditch,” which examines the exploitation of Nigerian women within the country’s largely unregulated surrogacy industry.
- After Relationship Ends, Nigerian Man, Adedapo Adegbola, Murders Girlfriend
Nigerian 40-year-old man, Adedapo Adegbola, murdered his ex-girlfriend because he couldn’t accept the end of their relationship. He has been scheduled to be sentenced on February 5, 2026.
The murder occurred on the evening of Tuesday, October 21, 2025, when Adegbola visited Stephs at her home in Mapperley, Nottinghamshire, UK. He fatally stabbed her following the end of their brief relationship. After the murder, Adedapo fled the scene, leaving behind blood-stained trainers and a jumper.
