On July 30, 2026, a man was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force after he threw his two children from a three-storey building in Umuobe, near Barracks Junction, along Opobo Road in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.

As Naija Feminists Media marks two years of feminist reporting, we learned something: Nigerians are listening, reading, sharing, and having conversations because of these stories.

Women are breaking ceilings across every profession in Nigeria. The response from society, especially men, is not admiration, not acknowledgement, not professional respect. It is a question about who she slept with to get there. This has been the pattern, chalking up many women’s success to how she slept her way to the top, because men have decided that a woman on her own cannot possibly succeed without a man bankrolling her or her body doing the negotiating.

- Chidiebere Kalu, School Security Guard, Jailed For Sexually Abusing 10-Year-Old Pupil
On August 5, 2026, a Family Court sitting at the Magistrate Court in Aba, Abia State, convicted and sentenced Chidiebere Kalu, a 30-year-old security officer attached to Radiant Glory Academy in Umuichichi, Aba, to one year in prison for sexually abusing a 10-year-old female pupil within the school premises.

Sports commentator Chief Suo Chapele has reflected on how an unexpected decision she made as a university student eventually led to a career in sports broadcasting in Nigerian Pidgin. Speaking in an interview with BBC News Pidgin, Suo said her interest in Pidgin began while studying English and Linguistics at the University of Benin.
- Nnamdi Lazarus Arrested for Child Trafficking in Abia
Nnamdi Lazarus, a 51-year-old man, has been arrested by the Abia State Police Command for alleged conspiracy and child trafficking after six abducted children were found in his custody.
