The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has officially commissioned a new health clinic and academy on Monday, June 29, 2026, in Hadejia, Jigawa State. These projects were launched during her official visit to the state to drive healthcare access, digital innovation, and social welfare.
The clinic is named Oluremi Tinubu Clinic in honour of the First Lady’s commitment to underserved communities. It’s equipped by the FutureMap Foundation and eHealth Africa with modern diagnostics and dialysis facilities to promote early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease. The second project, which is an academy, was funded by the Federal Government through the National Information Technology Development Agency. It’s named the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy and is designated to empower youths with digital and technology education, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, startup incubation, and health technology research. The campus is fully equipped with CBT facilities, collaborative workspaces, a modern auditorium, and a 60-bed hostel.
Speaking during the inauguration of the projects, Senator Oluremi said her passion was to uplift underserved communities.
“These facilities are dedicated to the early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease, especially for our vulnerable people,” she said.
The First Lady also launched a food bank to tackle food insecurity and malnutrition under the Renewed Hope Agenda. The programme specifically targets vulnerable children under the age of six, pregnant women, and lactating mothers across the zone’s seven states.
“The success of this programme will depend on sustained collaboration. We must work together to build a transparent, accountable, and efficient food bank system that reaches vulnerable households across Nigeria,” Senator Oluremi stated.
