BBNaija star Chidimma Esther Okagbue, popularly known as Bella, has countersued her ex-boyfriend Segun Olusemo, popularly known as Sheggz, demanding full repayment of the ₦11 million she stated he owes her. Bella’s legal team has made clear she intends to pursue every penny owed to her.

Recall that NFM previously reported on the breakdown of Bella and Sheggz’s relationship, in which Bella spoke about the warning signs she experienced during the relationship and what ultimately led to their separation.

The couple, who met on Big Brother Naija Season 7 in 2022, dated for several years before their relationship ended in January 2026. Bella subsequently broke her silence, revealing that Sheggz owed her ₦11 million and had been abusive toward her during the relationship.

On August 21, 2026, Sheggz’s lawyers issued Bella a formal letter, accusing her of making defamatory statements in a ₦500 million lawsuit.

The letter demanded that Bella immediately stop making the alleged defamatory statements, delete all disputed content from her social media platforms, and issue a public retraction and apology. His lawyers also accused her of cyberbullying and threatened to use social media to damage his reputation among his peers, business partners, and the public.

In response, Bella’s legal team at The Royal Partners issued a formal reply on August 24, 2026, rejecting all of Sheggz’s demands entirely.

“We state for the record that our client unreservedly denies Mr Segun Olusemo’s ‘SHEGGZ’ claims in your Notice dated the 21st day of August 2026 purportedly alleging malicious, defamatory and fake statements attributed to our client.” On the debt, the lawyers revealed, “Your client obtained several loans by false pretence from our Client, and we shall pursue this claim before a competent court; evidence abounds.”

The letter further dismissed all four of Sheggz’s demands for compliance, stating that Bella has made no false statements, has not published any statement capable of leading to a defamation suit, and that defamatory statements have not been made; hence, there would be no retraction of any sort.

The lawyers also issued a cyberstalking warning against a lawyer in Sheggz’s firm, alleging that the individual had been sending unsolicited messages, phone calls, and video calls to Bella’s client at odd hours, describing the conduct as unethical and a low bearing of a Legal Practitioner.

The countersuit drew immediate public support, including from fellow BBNaija star Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, who blasted Sheggz directly. Phyna stated,

“So Sheggz, you mean I should give you 500 million naira? You that beat my friend? If it were in London, you would already be under investigation.”
