American Singer Ciara Visits Nigeria For Cultural Tour

Grammy-winning singer Ciara arrived in Lagos, Nigeria, on Oct 30, 2025, for a cultural tour to showcase Lagos’s art, fashion, and tourism scene. She visited key cultural sites, including the Nike Centre for Arts and Culture. 

American singer, songwriter, dancer and actress Ciara Princess Wilson has arrived in Nigeria and embarked on a cultural tour to celebrate Lagos’ growing global influence in tourism, art, and fashion. Her visit was announced by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State, Jubril Gawat, on October 30, 2025.

He wrote, “International Superstar, Grammy Award Winner, CIARA Princess Wilson is in Lagos, accompanied by the Commissioner for Tourism, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka.

He also stated that the Grammy award-winning singer’s visit was a homecoming for her and that she would visit different cultural sites in Lagos. 

Upon arrival, Ciara was received by Lagos State officials, including the Commissioner for Tourism, who emphasised that her visit was part of a collaboration between the state government and creative stakeholders.  She has since toured multiple cultural landmarks, including a stop at the Nike Centre for Arts and Culture.

Ciara was seen wearing Adire, a traditional Nigerian indigo-dyed textile, as part of her effort to connect with the local culture. 

She praised Lagos’ infrastructural development, urban planning, and cultural vibrancy, calling it a city on the rise.

“I’m happy to be here. I’m really excited,” she said. “I know about Lagos. Lagos, from what I see, I’ve seen an evolution of Lagos. When I used to land, I used to see all the dirt roads; now what I see is pavement.”
