Arise TV Honour Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Jumoke Oduwole, Others for  Impactful Leadership

Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim and several other prominent Nigerian women, including Jumoke Oduwole, were honored at the Arise TV Women of Impact event on April 31, 2025. 

The Arise TV Board of Editor has recognised Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim, the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, for her exceptional leadership in championing the rights of women, children, and vulnerable groups. The award ceremony, which took place on Monday, Mar. 31, 2025, at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, was attended by some of the country’s most prominent women from diverse fields such as government, politics, business, finance, and the creative economy.

Imaan who was represented at the event by Mrs. Olasumbo Odunsi, philanthropist and founder of the Alafia Foundation received praise during the ceremony for redefining public service by focusing on gender equality and humanitarian governance. Her data-driven, people-centered approach has been credited with uniting Nigerian women under a shared vision for change, which aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Arise TV Board of Editors commended the Minister for her policies aimed at uplifting women and children, stating that her efforts have had a lasting and positive impact on Nigerian society. Other awardees included Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, for her work in women’s empowerment; Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a global leader in economic development; and Dr. Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, who was recognised for her efforts in sustainable development.

Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, Hadiza Bala Usman, Senator Ireti Kingibe, Jumoke Oduwole, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Arts and Culture, Senator Natasha Akpoti and Professor Suwaiba Said Ahmad, the Minister of State for Education, were among other distinguished honorees.

In a heartfelt response to the honor, Imaan expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and make a meaningful difference in the lives of Nigerians. On Apr. 1, 2025, she took to Instagram, stating: “It is truly a privilege to be recognised among the 65 Women Making Impact in Arise Women of Power. This honor is a reminder of the work we continue to do in advancing women and children’s rights, protection, empowerment, and leadership. Together, we keep pushing for a more inclusive and equitable future. Congratulations to all the awardees. The Nigerian Woman is a force to reckon with.”

Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Nigeria’s Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, who was present and also honoured at the event, also shared her gratitude on Instagram, writing: “Thank you to @arisewomen_ng for the Women of Impact Award. It is an honor to be recognized and I am grateful for this recognition. This is a proud moment to celebrate alongside fellow changemakers of impact.”
