In a fresh attack on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, armed bandits abducted four pregnant women and children at Palaita community, Erena ward, Shiroro LGA of Niger state. This incident occurred at a farm while the residents were harvesting their crops. 

Armed bandits have abducted four pregnant women from a rice farm at Palaita community, Erena ward, Shiroro LGA of Niger state. This incident occurred on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

Eyewitnesses reported that the bandits stormed the community, shooting sporadically and took  24 villagers, including four pregnant women and children, to an unknown location. This attack occurred at a farm about 500 metres from Erena town, where a military camp is situated. 

A source told The Whisper, “They came in around 10 am to 1 pm. They took people up to 20. Four of them are pregnant women and children. Our security went there, but before they reached the scene, the terrorists had left the scene as the road was not motorable.”

The Niger State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, stating, “On November 26, 2025, at about 8 pm, a report was received indicating that suspected armed men abducted about ten persons from Angwan-Kawo and Kuchipa villages of Shiroro Local Government Area. Effort is being made to rescue the victims.”

The abduction of women and girls has become a prevalent issue in Nigeria, undermining their safety.
