Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has earned global recognition after being ranked the fourth-best goalkeeper in the world. She achieved this milestone at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards held in Paris on September 22, 2025.
The 24-year-old, who plays for Brighton & Hove Albion Women in England, was listed among the top five in the Women’s Yashin Trophy. The new category was introduced this year to honour the world’s best female goalkeepers.
The trophy was won by England’s Hannah Hampton of Chelsea, followed by Germany’s Ann-Katrin Berger in second place and Spain’s Cata Coll in third. The Netherlands’ Daphne van Domselaar rounded off the top five.
Chiamaka, who is already a two-time winner of the CAF Best Women’s Goalkeeper Award, has been outstanding for both club and country. She played a crucial role in Nigeria’s triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco and was a standout performer at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where her saves powered the Super Falcons’ campaign.
Her consistent club performances also earned her the 2024 UNFP Goalkeeper of the Season award during her spell at Paris FC, alongside a Coupe de France Féminine title before her move to the English league.
This latest recognition makes her one of the finest goalkeepers in women’s football and highlights the growing influence of African players on the global stage.
