The Mavin Records star made history as the first woman to win Best African Act in 16 years, defeating Asake, Rema, Tems, Burna Boy, and Tyla, who were nominated in the category. She also triumphed over global icons such as Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Megan Thee Stallion, Tems, and Tyla to win the Best International Act award.
The event, hosted by Indiyah Polack and Eddie Kadi, celebrated the best of Black music and culture.
The Music of Black Origin Awards (MOBO) is an annual British music ceremony honouring excellence in Black music, spanning genres such as hip-hop, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music. For nearly 30 years, the awards have recognised and celebrated Black artists in the UK and beyond.
