Summary
The DSVA has responded to a viral video and accusation of Ohis Emmanuel engaging in child molestation of a 13-year-old girl.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DVSA) has reacted to child molestation allegations involving Ohis Emmanuel, the estranged husband of popular disc jockey DJ Kulet. A viral video surfaced in which Emmanuel admits to molesting a 13-year-old girl and her friend, prompting public outcry and calls for accountability.
In the video, the mother of the alleged victim reveals that her daughter had contracted an infection, leading to a disturbing conversation where Emmanuel reportedly confessed to inappropriate acts with the minors. DjKulet reportedly asked the child about his actions, to which the child disclosed that he had been touching her and her friend inappropriately.
Following these revelations, DJ Kulet announced her separation from Emmanuel, writing,
“I, DJ KULET, am publicly disassociating myself from my ex-husband, Ohis Emmanuel (aka Benjamin), due to his egregious and reprehensible actions.
“Despite overwhelming evidence (including chats, photos, videos, and voice notes) of his infidelity, he has refused to change his ways. The final straw was the shocking discovery of his prolonged sexual abuse of a 13-year-old minor, which occurred under my roof for six months.
“Previously, I had forgiven him after he shifted the blame for his infidelity to external influences, unaware of the extent of his abuse. Further investigation, including a video confession on December 28th, 2024, revealed that he had also molested his 20- 20-year-old cousin, resulting in her contracting an infection, as well as her friend.
“His predatory behaviour predominantly targets minors, and he continues to engage in infidelity with multiple women. In our short-lived marriage of less than 8 months, I have treated infections three times.
“As a VICTIM myself, I feel compelled to expose individuals like him to protect others. I urge everyone to be vigilant and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.”
She expressed her commitment to exposing such behaviour to protect other potential victims, highlighting that the abuse occurred under her roof during their brief marriage.
The DVSA has emphasised the importance of safeguarding children from abuse and has encouraged victims or witnesses of such incidents to come forward. They aim to provide support and resources for those affected by domestic and sexual violence in Lagos State.
This incident has reignited discussions around the protection of children from sexual violence in Nigeria, with advocates urging society to take a stand against such abuses and support victims in seeking justice.
