Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, 22,  Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola,  27, and Sobu Obafunsho,  36 years, have been arrested in connection with the murder of Veteran OGTV broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo. This development was announced on Thursday, June 25, 2026, by the Ogun state commissioner of police, Bode Ojajuni.

Recall that we reported the gruesome murder of retired broadcaster, Kitan, at her residence in Abeokuta on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Preliminary investigations revealed signs of forced entry and disturbance within the premises. Her vehicle was also missing from the premises.

Speaking on the case, the Commissioner of Police stated that a handwritten note recovered at the scene was subjected to forensic examination and analysis. The result generated investigative leads that helped detectives identify and trace the suspects. Sodeinde, the principal suspect, was arrested on June 24, 2026, at a construction site in Ibara GRA, Abeokuta, where he was working as a labourer.

“During interrogation, Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip made a confessional statement, admitting his involvement in the murder of Madam Olakitan Oyesiku. He further disclosed that he had recruited Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola, aged 27 years, and Sobu Obafunsho, aged 36 years, to participate in the crime,” he said.

According to the confession statement of Sodeinde, he allegedly planned and coordinated the murder because of the unresolved grievances he had with the deceased during the period he worked as her security guard.

“Because of low salary, and demanding money from the deceased from time to time, the suspect stated that the murder of Madam Olakitan Oyesiku and her security guard was intended to ‘teach her a lesson,’” Ojajuni said.

The police also recovered the deceased’s stolen car in addition to the broken hammer, cutlass, plank, black pen, and other relevant exhibits connected to the case.

“The Ogun State Police Command wishes to emphasise that while the suspects have made useful statements and substantial evidence has been recovered in the course of the investigation, all suspects remain entitled to due process under the law. Investigation is ongoing to consolidate all available evidence and ensure diligent prosecution of all suspects connected with the crime,” the Commissioner added.
