Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, has been named one of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Most Influential Women in International Film.” The prestigious list recognises 46 visionary women shaping the global film industry.
The announcement, made on May 9, 2025, marks a significant milestone in Funke’s career. Known for her record-breaking films Omo Ghetto: The Saga and A Tribe Called Judah, and her beloved TV series Jenifa’s Diary, she has become one of Nollywood’s most bankable and influential figures.
Reacting to the honour, the producer and co-founder of FilmOne Entertainment said.
