Halle Bailey has been granted a domestic violence restraining order against her baby's father, DDG. She reported repeated abuse and harassment, including a violent incident during a custody exchange.
American singer and actress Halle Bailey has been granted a domestic violence restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., popularly known as DDG.
The Los Angeles judge’s ruling followed Halle’s detailed reports of repeated verbal and physical abuse during and after their relationship. The pair, who share a nearly 18-month-old son named Halo, were in a relationship from 2022 until their separation in October 2024.
In court documents filed May 13, 2025, Halle Bailey claimed that a confrontation with DDG in January turned violent during a custody handoff.
According to her, the rapper became aggressive while she was buckling their son into a car seat, shouting, “Get out of my car, BITCH,” which caused the baby to cry. She further claimed that DDG pulled her hair, slammed her face into the steering wheel and left her with bruises on her arms.
Despite the assault, Halle rode along with DDG to his house to ensure their son’s safety, later informing his family of the incident before leaving “hysterical.” Photos of the reported injuries and a damaged Ring camera were submitted as evidence.
The actress also recounted a March incident where DDG reportedly entered her home without permission, texted her a photo of her empty bed, and made accusations about her personal life. Days later, she said, he returned, became verbally abusive, smashed her security camera, and threw her phone out of a moving car.
Halle Bailey further claimed that DDG has used his Twitch and YouTube platforms to incite harassment against her, claiming she was keeping their son from him and making defamatory statements.
“Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts bad-mouthing me to his several million fans,” she said in her filing. “As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media.”
The judge granted the restraining order, requiring DDG to remain at least 100 yards away from Halle Bailey and prohibiting him from publicly discussing her or their child. The court also barred him from possessing any weapons and scheduled a follow-up hearing in June, where the order could be extended for up to five years.
Additionally, Halle Bailey was granted permission to travel with Halo to Italy, where she will be filming for two months.
