Summary

In a viral post on her Instagram account, Chef Dammy shared her disappointment and hurt over the direct, negative messages she received from critics. She urged Nigerians to stop engaging in cyberbullying against her while maintaining that she is developing resilience against them.

Nigerian Chef, Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has slammed critics for negative messages directed at her via DM. In the video she shared on her Instagram handle, she told her critics that she did not deserve the abuse they directed at her.

In June 2023, Chef Dammy gained widespread recognition for her 120-hour cook-a-thon in Oye Local Government Area, Ekiti State. Although she completed the 120 hours of cooking, she was not officially certified by the Guinness World Records due to not having made a prior application, which is a mandatory requirement for official recognition.

Since her cook-a-thon in 2023, the culinary chef has constantly faced cyberbullying, which continues to affect her mental health and well-being. Following the direct negative messages she received after attending an event, Chef Dammy shared her disappointment and hurt over the messages, but also emphasised that it no longer bothers her.

“I am not in pain. I was broken before because you knew me. But this is Chef Dammy that you do not know, so you can’t break me because you don’t know me. If you have something that’s bothering you, you don’t have to pour your frustrations out in my DM. Just tell me what is wrong.  I am ready to listen to you, you are calling me negative names, I don’t think I want to take it anymore because I don’t deserve it at all,” Chef Dammy said.
