The leadership of the Lagos State Youth Parliament, led by its Speaker, Maria Itunuoluwa Soniregun, met with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat in a landmark presentation of the youth legislative body. Representing over 10 million young people in the state, the Parliament affirmed its commitment to youth development and legislative advocacy.
Itunu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with a governor dedicated to youth empowerment. She praised Sanwo-Olu’s administration for prioritising young people in its development agenda.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to meet with a Governor who is deeply concerned about the development of youth in Lagos State,” she said.
Acknowledging key supporters of her leadership, Itunu commended Mobolaji Ogunlende for his unwavering support and dedication to inclusive governance. She highlighted his ‘leave no one behind’ policy as instrumental in fostering youth participation in governance.
