Summary

Nigerians are seeking justice against Timilehin Ajayi for the brutal murder of Salome with #JusticeForSalome. A group of protesters recently visited the family in Nasarawa, showing their support, including a promise to attend the candlelight celebration in honour of Salome.

After Timileyin Ajayi brutally murdered Salome Adaidu, Nigerians have massively called for justice with #JusticeforSalome. Ajayi Timileyin, a 32-year-old gospel singer, confessed on national television to the brutal murder of Salome Adaidu on January 12, 2025. He was caught by police officials with Salome’s severed head at Agwan Sarki Orozo, Nasarawa state, near Abuja, on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

Following the incident, young Nigerians gathered in numbers to protest on the street of  Nasawara, chanting “Justice for Salome.” They also visited Salome’s home to support the family.

Salome’s sister thanked the protesters for their kind gesture and gave an update about the case. She announced that a candlelight service would be hosted on Tuesday, January 21, 2025,  in honour of Salome and the Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule, has promised justice.

“The governor of Nasarawa state has assured us that if you are caught with any human part, the same method used for the victim is used for the perpetrator. So the guy is not going to court; he will be murdered, too.”

In reaction, one of the protesters commented, “We are not going to rest until we get justice.”

Several Nigerians have also continuously called for justice online.

Human Rights Activist Theresa (@The_re_sa___) said,

“We must all as a nation resist the efforts by the most evil people to trick us into sympathy. Timileyin Ajayi is not automatically a victim just for alleging that he murdered his girlfriend for being “unfaithful” to him. This is a depraved, evil person. #JusticeforSalomeAdaidu.”

Similarly, @AttaAbraham, said,

“The animal doesn’t even show any remorse for what he did. Such a person should be sentenced to death, not a life sentence, but then it’s  Nigeria don’t be surprised if they even release him. #JusticeforSalomeAdaidu.”
