Katsina State has empowered 180 women in a transformative digital skills training programme.
The Katsina State Ministry of Women Affairs, in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), hosted a graduation and empowerment ceremony for 180 women who completed a transformative digital skills training program. The ceremony, held on Jan. 14, 2025, at the Multipurpose Women Center, Filin Samji in Katsina, celebrated the remarkable achievements of the graduates and highlighted the importance of digital literacy in fostering economic growth.
While giving her remarks at the ceremony, the honourable Commissioner of Women Affairs in Katsina state, Hadiza Yar’adua, expressed her pride in the participants’ dedication and commitment to developing essential skills that will enable them to contribute to their communities.
“I congratulate the graduates on their remarkable achievements and urge them to use their newly acquired digital skills to foster economic growth and uplift their communities.”
According to her, this initiative reflects the Katsina State government’s unwavering commitment to empowering women and advancing socio-economic development.
During this ceremony, special recognition was awarded to the programme’s top three performers, who received essential tools—a laptop, a digital camera, and a smartphone—to aid them in their future endeavours.
The Katsina State Ministry of Women Affairs and IOM partnership aims to build a brighter future where women are equipped to lead, innovate, and inspire change. This programme not only enhances digital literacy among women but also paves the way for greater economic independence and community development in Katsina State.
