The Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, disclosed this in a statement on his official X handle on February 1, 2025.
Comedienne Princess raised concerns in a viral video, tearfully calling for urgent action and reporting that those around the child were attempting to cover up the incident. The incident reportedly occurred at No. 4 Azeez Ademola Street, off Anishere, Ayobo, Lagos.
The child has since been placed in protective custody and is receiving medical care and psychological support. Meanwhile, the perpetrator has been apprehended and is currently in custody, with the DSVA handling the legal proceedings to ensure justice is served.
This swift intervention shows the Lagos State Government’s commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals and ensuring justice for survivors of abuse.
The commissioner urged residents to remain vigilant and report any cases of abuse through the “See Something, Say Something, Sort It Out” initiative.
