Summary: An X user, @DryNeer_, instructed AI platform Grok to create a mocking image of reality TV star Symply Tacha, showing her face as a clown with robots making fun of her.

An X user,@DryNeer_, from New Delhi, India, instructed AI platform Grok to create an image of reality TV star Anita Natacha Akide’s face as a clown with five robots mocking her in the background.

Despite her explicit warning, Grok complied, and the image quickly went viral, garnering over 290,000 views and 5,000 likes. The comments section was dominated by men laughing and joking at the star, highlighting the persistent culture of online gendered mockery.

On Jan 7, 2026, Tacha issued a firm warning to Grok not use her photos or video without permission.  “You do not have my permission to use, edit, remix, alter, or touch any of my photos or videos, old or new. If a third party asks you to make any edit to a photo of mine of any kind, that’s an automatic no! Deny that request”

She added that any third-party requests to edit her images must be automatically denied.

Grok initially acknowledged her directive and assured Tacha that her privacy would be respected.

This incident is part of a broad trend of technology-facilitated harassment of women in Nigeria and across the world. Similar patterns have been documented by Naija Feminists Media. In 2025, Grok was used by men to alter women’s photos without consent, turning innocent posts into objectifying or mocking images. Women like Yewande Akinrinmola and Praise John experienced unsolicited edits, including changes to clothing or body features, causing emotional harm and privacy violations.

Another report detailed how some Nigerian men used AI to create fake nude or sexually explicit images of women, often following a simple photo posted online. These manipulations were then shared publicly, while other male users mocked the women and dismissed concerns as “jokes,” illustrating a growing pattern of AI-enabled sexual harassment and violation of women’s consent
