From the dazzling red carpet moments to award-winning, AMVCA 11 reaffirmed the power and diversity of African narratives.
This year’s event was particularly remarkable for the recognition of women, as many female creatives and performers claimed top honours across multiple categories.
Chinenye Nworah and Taiwo Adebayo won Best Scripted (M-Net Original) for their exceptional work. Mercy Aigbe took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Farmer’s Bride. Chioma Chukwuka emerged as the Best Lead Actress for her role in Seven Doors.
Blessing Uzzi won Best Writer (Movie) for Freedom Way and clinched the prestigious Best Movie award for the same film. The award for Best Documentary went to Dundun, created by Ifeoluwa Fatogun and Ebi Atawodi.
