Summary: Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has dropped defamation charges against TikToker Eedie Bliss, leading to Bliss’s release on January 17, 2026. She warned, however, that she will continue pursuing other legal actions to protect her family’s reputation.
Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has withdrawn the defamation charges she filed against Nigerian TikToker Eedie Bliss, leading to the blogger’s release on January 17, 2026.
The case stemmed from a video shared by Eedie Bliss in December 2025, alleging that Mercy’s husband, Prince Henry Okojie, bought a house for his pregnant mistress and that Mercy reportedly conspired with the mistress’s house help to cause a miscarriage. The video sparked public attention across social media platforms.
Mercy Johnson explained in a video on her official Instagram page that she dropped the charges out of respect for those who pleaded on the blogger’s behalf and out of love for her husband. She, however, warned that it is no longer business as usual and noted that she will continue to pursue other defamation cases.
She further criticised blogs that publish damaging reports about her family, highlighting the negative impact on her teenage children, who have faced bullying at school.
The actress emphasised the burden of proof for any allegations made against her or her family, stating, “If you use your handle, your face to allege, you will prove. Whoever alleges will have to prove.”
While Eedie Bliss has been released, Mercy clarified that other cases she has filed will continue to proceed according to the law.
“I don’t care who’s doing better. I’m just in my lane. Please leave me alone. Leave my name and my husband’s name out of your mouth,” she added.
