Naija Feminists Media (NFM) has been selected for an ICT Audit as part of the Rising Child Foundation’s ongoing mission to scale civic engagement through technology.
Rising Child Foundation is a women-led NGO that uses education to transform the lives of disadvantaged children, especially girls. In March 2025, NFM was previously selected for the Empowering Youth NGOs with Digital Skills and AI Tools training under Rising Child Foundation’s digital empowerment initiative.
This ICT Audit marks the next phase of that journey, reinforcing NFM’s commitment to feminist advocacy powered by technology. The initiative is designed to equip youth-led and grassroots organisations with the tools, knowledge, and ethical frameworks needed to harness AI and digital tools for positive social impact and good governance.
Out of 23, organisations, NFM is one of the few selected for the ICT audit. The other selected organisations include Gbenga Fawehinmi Foundation, Renewed Hope for the Disabled, Shapers Network Africa, and Foundation for Integrated Care (FIC).
“The selected stood out with their punctuality, active participation, and consistency during the Digital Skills & AI Tools training,” Rising Child Foundation said.
Equilibrium Zone, a venture management company that provides strategic support and management of groundbreaking solutions built to solve pressing everyday challenges, will conduct the ICT audit.
NFM, widely recognised for its feminist approach to media and reporting on women’s issues, sees this opportunity as a chance to further strengthen its digital capacity. Simbiat Bakare, the founder of the organisation, expressed the coalition’s appreciation for the recognition,
“We are proud to be selected and grateful to organisations like Rising Child Foundation supporting the important work we do to leverage technology and media to advance gender equality.”
The audit will help the organisation identify gaps and integrate smart ICT solutions to enhance its reporting, advocacy, and digital presence.
