  1. PCOS Awareness: Naija Feminists Media, LOK Natal Care to Host X Space on Addressing Misconceptions

Naija Feminists Media, in collaboration with LOK Natal Care, will host a Twitter Space on September 10, 2025, to address misconceptions about PCOS and its impact on women. The event will feature experts, advocates, and survivors and build up to the premiere of the advocacy documentary Beyond D’ Symptoms.

  1. First Female Head of Service of the FCT, Grace Adayilo, Dies

Grace Adayilo, the pioneer and first female Head of Service of the FCT, has died at 69. She was appointed by President Bola Tinubu as the first substantive Head of Service of the FCT on October 6, 2024, following the approval of a new civil service structure for the territory. 

With the appointment, she made history as both the pioneer Head of Service of the FCT and the first woman to hold the position. Her death marks the loss of a trailblazing civil servant who broke new ground for women in leadership.

  1. Male Mob Lynch Ammaye over Commentary on Islam

Ammaye, a food vendor in Igawama community, Mariga Local Council, Nigeria, was lynched to death by agitated northern young men over an alleged blasphemy remark made against the Prophet Muhammad. While the community is now calm, Ammaye’s perpetrators have not been caught. 

  1. Femicide: Ekiti First Lady Reacts to Husband Beating Wife, Modupe Alasin, to death

Ekiti State First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, condemned the murder of Ms. Modupe Alasin, who her husband killed after he reportedly beat her to death. Reacting to the tragedy, Dr. Oyebanji called for an immediate end to gender-based violence (GBV).

  1. International Striker, Asisat Oshoala, Transfer to Saudi Arabia Club,  Al Hilal

On sports, Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala, has signed a two-year contract with Al Hilal, a Saudi Arabian club. She will now play for the club, competing in the Saudi Women’s Premier League, in the Middle East. Her contract runs through 2027.
