Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, was honoured with the Diamond Award at the inaugural Billboard Global Power Players Event. The event was held on June 4, 2025, at Shoreditch House in East London, England. The event also marked the launch of the first-ever U.K. Power Players chart, further celebrating major contributors to the global music industry.

A growing outcry has emerged from students and concerned individuals at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), following serious reports of persistent sexual harassment against a final-year medical student, Ikeh Ifeanyichukwu Michael.
According to sources, the perpetrator has been called out for sexually harassing several women on campus. His actions, which reportedly began as far back as 2023, involve stalking these women using multiple anonymous social media accounts under the guise of being an “obsessed lover.”

Nigeria’s former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Psychology, Guidance, and Counselling from the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Rivers State.
The degree was conferred during the university’s 43rd Postgraduate Convocation Ceremony on May 31, 2025. The former First Lady used the occasion to advocate for lifelong learning, particularly among women and youth.

On June 2, Nigerian men engage in serial sexual abuse of women with their pictures on Twitter. Weaponising AI, the men used a Grok AI prompt to generate nude pictures of the women. With many other men making light of the situation, they target more pictures of women by using lewd remarks to create nude photos for their amusement.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has refuted a recording that portrays her accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of blackmailing President Tinubu to have her jailed. She states that it is a deliberate attempt to weaponise technology to discredit and silence her.
