Bemi Orojogun, a Nigerian content creator based in the United Kingdom and popularly known as London Bus Aunty, has been nominated for the TikTok UK Awards 2025 in the Video of the Year category.
She was nominated alongside creators such as Friends of Elmtree, Sam Morris, Gardiner Brothers, Joseph Machines, and Brad Ben for the prestigious award celebrating standout contributors on the platform.
The middle-aged creator has become one of TikTok’s most recognisable Nigerian figures abroad, known for her simple yet captivating videos featuring London’s iconic double-decker buses. Her trademark short clips, often filmed from pavements as buses glide past without her uttering a word, have earned her over 200,000 TikTok followers and more than 20,000 Instagram fans.
Nicknamed “London Bus Aunty” by fans, Bemi first went viral in 2024 after posting a forced-perspective video, a visual trick that uses distance and framing to make objects appear closer or larger than they actually are. Since then, she has transformed from an internet curiosity to a full-fledged influencer.
Her viral fame has opened doors for collaborations with brands and public figures, including the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, on the city’s 2,000 zero-emission buses project, showcasing her ability to merge creativity with social impact.
Reacting to the news in a video shared on her TikTok page on Saturday, Orojogun expressed disbelief and gratitude, describing the nomination as an exciting milestone in her creative journey.
“I have been nominated as the Best Video of the Year 2025. Guys, thank you for getting me here. I can’t believe I am here, but thank you,” she said.
