Summary

Popular content creator and OAP, Jay On-Air is under fire on Twitter for recreating pregnancy photos of actress Adesua Etomi who recently welcomed a new baby with husband Banky Wellington.

The popular content creator and On-Air Personality Jay On-Air has come under intense criticism after he shared new photos on X, formerly known as Twitter, that appeared to mimic actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington’s pregnancy photos.

Adesua shared the maternity shoot on October 14, 2024, announcing the expectant of her second child. “First, we had each other, then we had your brother, then God sent you and now? NOW, we have everything.”

Jay On-Air, who described his content as “observational comedy,” is known for recreating popular and relatable situations or occurrences in Nigerian society. In recent times, however, his posts have shifted from generally relatable occurrences to a mimicry that requires him to dress up as a woman.

His imitation of Adesua captioned, “Congratulations to the W’s,” currently has over 1.2 million views and 1.2k quotes on X and has been heavily criticised by Nigerians who expressed that he should not have recreated photos from a very sensitive situation.

According to users on X, the mimicry was distasteful and disrespectful to Adesua as she had previously shared her struggles in getting pregnant on social media back in 2021. To many users, he “took a beautiful thing and made it cringe.”

“This guy has always been cringe since the first day he picked up mimicking and mocking women as a hobby, I wondered what y’all found funny, but thank Goodness the scales are off today because e touch your fave,” @_Chukwuoma_ tweeted

“Knowing when to STOP is a virtue not many possess”, @_orcabi quoted.
