Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has openly confronted her critics over body-shaming her despite her significant weight loss. She shared this in a lengthy message posted on her Instagram page on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
Eniola Badmus is a popular Nigerian actress and scriptwriter. In a five-year health journey, she successfully reduced from 170 kg to 83 kg. Despite the milestone, she continues to face relentless bullying over her changing appearance, post-weight-loss appearance, and skin.
In her lengthy post, the actress explained that her weight loss journey was not an overnight achievement but a result of years of discipline, sacrifice, consistency, and determination.
“The same people who body-shamed me when I was plus-size are the same people body-shaming me now that I’ve lost the weight. What exactly do you want from me?” She said.
She added that weight loss is naturally accompanied by physical changes like skin appearance and shape, saying that such adjustments are part of the transformation process. According to her, one of the most painful parts of her transformation journey is the continued criticism from people who once body-shamed her for being plus-size and are now attacking her despite significant weight loss.
“When someone loses almost 90kg, it’s completely normal for the skin to change. Of course, my skin will adjust. I’m doing my best, taking care of myself, using collagen, staying healthy, and embracing every stage of this transformation,” she stated.
The actress expressed that not responding to negative comments doesn’t mean the words do not affect her because she is human and experiences emotions like everyone else. She added that her transformation is a major personal achievement, stressing that losing nearly 90kg is a milestone that should be celebrated rather than criticised.
“So much of this bullying comes from women. We often say, ‘Women should support women.’ But where is that support when another woman is fighting to become healthier and happier? Kindness costs nothing,” she said.
She also encouraged people to stop mocking others due to their body size, emphasising that the focus should be on the strength, determination, and resilience behind the person’s journey.
“Nobody deserves to be bullied for being plus-size, and nobody deserves to be bullied for losing weight either,” she added.
