Blessing Nwoye – Writer, Spoken Word Artist, and Beauty Model

  1. Why did you decide to participate in this pageant?

I decided to participate in this pageant to showcase the beauty, strength, and confidence of young women with albinism. I want to use this platform to break stereotypes, inspire others like me to embrace their uniqueness, and raise awareness about the challenges and discrimination people with albinism face. This is more than a pageant; it’s a voice for change.

  1. What misconception about albinism would you like to change?

One major misconception I would like to change is the belief that people with albinism are cursed or less capable than others. Albinism is simply a genetic condition that affects skin, hair, and eye colour, it does not define our abilities, intelligence, or worth. I want the world to see that we are just as talented, strong, and deserving of love and respect as anyone else.

  1. What message or advice do you have for young girls with albinism?

My message to young girls with albinism is this: You are beautiful, you are enough, and your uniqueness is your power. Never let the world’s ignorance dim your light or make you feel less worthy. Stand tall, love yourself deeply, and chase your dreams fearlessly because you were born to shine in your own special way.

  1. What goals are you working toward in the next five years?

In the next five years, I am determined to become a leading advocate for people with albinism, challenging discrimination and breaking barriers on every platform I can reach. My goal is to create powerful initiatives that protect our rights, amplify our voices, and inspire a generation of young people with albinism to rise with courage, confidence, and pride.

Nigeria is set to host the first Albinism Beauty Pageant. Organised by Misty Glam Company (MGC), the groundbreaking event will be held on September 13, 2025.  For partnerships or sponsorships, contact MGC via email at hello@mistyglamcompany.com or WhatsApp at 0704 870 4115.
