Reports circulating on social media claiming that a woman identified as Ayomide Agboola had been sentenced to seven years in prison over allegations against Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, have been debunked by the singer himself.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Rudeboy labelled the reports as false, clarifying that no trial had concluded and that the information being shared online was inaccurate.

The controversy dates back to September 2025, when Ayomide, also known online as “ChubbieDivah,” stated that there had been reports that the singer had coerced a domestic worker in his household, which is tantamount to rape.

In addition to the tweet involving the domestic worker, Ayomide also said Rudeboy was cheating on his former wife, Anita Okoye. The singer denied all allegations and publicly vowed to pursue legal action against her.

Reports indicate that Ayomide Agboola was arrested on November 6, 2025, and arraigned in court on November 10, 2025, following the accusations. She was reportedly later granted a temporary release to seek medical attention.

Afterwards, a Twitter user, @ykbprst, claimed the lady had been sent to 7 years’ imprisonment. His caption reads, “JUST IN: ChubbieDivah, the woman who falsely accused Rudeboy of rape, has been sentenced to 7 years in prison this morning.”

The Twitter user’s tweet generated over 3.2 million views and 32 likes. However, Rudeboy revealed that all rumours of imprisonment are false.

He attached an image that carries the words, “If you price, you must pay. The next time you will see the sunlight is in 2032,” to debunk the claim.

“This is fake!!! Very fake news,” the singer wrote on X.
