Summary

The 2025 PAWENpreneur Awards will honour Africa’s most inspiring women entrepreneurs and leaders, celebrating innovation, resilience, and transformative impact across the continent. The organisation is currently accepting nominees, which is set to close on August 24, 2025.

The Pan African Women Empowerment Network (PAWEN) is set to host the 2025 PAWENpreneur Awards, which will celebrate exceptional African women leaders from diverse sectors, including finance, health, innovation, sustainability, public service and social impact.

The event will recognise a diverse range of individuals, including entrepreneurs who have built thriving enterprises, intrapreneurs whose leadership drives excellence within organisations, visionary leaders such as C-suite executives and board members breaking barriers, and community advocates like mentors and leaders dedicated to empowering other women.

Now in its second edition, the awards have grown to feature five categories, including Entrepreneurship, Intrapreneurship and Innovation, Impact & Inclusion, Public Leadership & Policy Influence and Ecosystem Builders, with over 15 honours to be presented.

According to PAWEN founder, Oluwaseyi Kehinde-Peters, the awards serve as a platform that unites and uplifts Africa’s most inspiring women leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers.

“Through leadership insights, powerful storytelling, and meaningful connections, this pan-African celebration is designed to recognise excellence, inspire the next generation, and spark cross-border collaborations that drive lasting impact,” Oluwaseyi noted.

The PAWENpreneur Awards 2025 will accept nominations from July 24th to August 24th. After that, the top 10 nominees per category will be shortlisted. A judging panel will evaluate them to select the top three finalists, and the winners will be announced on the awards night in November.

Nominees must be African women aged 18 or older as of July 1st, 2025, with verifiable achievements in their field. Both self-nominations and third-party nominations are accepted.

Since its inception, PAWEN has made a significant impact, inspiring hope and breaking barriers for more than 4,000 women through programmes that create opportunities and inspire the next generation of changemakers.
