Paystack has suspended its Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, after a series of disturbing tweets from 2009–2013 resurfaced, revealing graphic references to rape, paedophilia, zoophilia, and inappropriate comments about female colleagues.
The controversy erupted when old posts from Ezra’s X (formerly Twitter) account went viral, showing him joking about erections during meetings, making sexualised comments about co-workers, suggesting taking inappropriate photos of a colleague, and tweeting dark humour involving minors, animals, and sexualised anime characters.


Another of his tweets says, “I hear sex with a minor cures HIV, so my +ve followers help yourself, your neighbour’s daughter is not looking bad today.”
These resurfaced involve disturbing comments about fantasising about raping women, girls, and virgins, as well as urging his followers to engage in rape or touch women inappropriately. It also included sexual fantasies involving his cat.
Ezra Olubi deactivated his X account on November 13, 2025, shortly after the tweets spread widely.
In a formal statement, Paystack said it was aware of the allegations and takes them extremely seriously. The company announced Ezra Olubi’s immediate suspension from all duties and responsibilities pending the outcome of a formal investigation.
Paystack added that the investigation will be “fair, transparent, and structured,” guided by the company’s internal policies and values. To maintain the integrity of the process, the company has declined to provide further comments until the investigation concludes.
As of now, Ezra Olubi has not made any public statement regarding his resurfaced tweets or his suspension.
