Rasheedat Ajibade, the Super Falcons captain, stated that the Federal Government has yet to fulfil its promises, including the $100,000 three-bedroom apartment and other commitments to the team.
Rasheedat Ajibade, the Super Falcons captain and recognised player of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), revealed that the Federal Government is yet to fulfil its promises of $100,000 for a three-bedroom apartment, and other commitments promised.
Recall that after the Super Falcons’ record-breaking victory at the WAFCON tournament in Morocco, President Tinubu conferred national titles on the players and awarded each player $100,000 and a three-bedroom apartment.
However, an interview with Chude Jideonwo, a broadcaster, revealed that the players are yet to receive these promises. When asked about the FG promises to the team,
“We have not received any money, but hopefully it would be paid. All the promises you hear back and forth, we have not received anything. Even our match bonuses is still a work in progress. When they pay it, we will say it,” she responded.
The Super Falcons captain hoped the federal government would fulfil their promise quickly.
