The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a popular Port Harcourt-based realtor, Maduba Okechi Christian, for reportedly assaulting three women at Blacbox nightclub in Port Harcourt during the early hours of Thursday, June 12, 2025.
The women, who were at the club to celebrate a friend’s birthday, shared disturbing videos online showing severe injuries sustained during the attack. One was seen with a bleeding head, while another had a broken front tooth, reportedly after being punched in the face.
The victims claimed that realtor Maduba Okechi Christian assaulted them at a Port Harcourt nightclub after one of them declined his advances. The women, who had reserved a table for a birthday celebration, said Maduba became violent after accusing them of filming him.
One of the victims, Thonia Okoye, said she was dragged downstairs, stripped, and beaten, while others sustained serious injuries, including a broken tooth and head wounds. Another victim, Juliet Obasi, reported that he smashed a bottle on her head and tried to stab her.
The Rivers State Police Command confirmed that Maduba Okechi Christian was arrested on Saturday, June 14, and released the following day, June 15. According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the realtor and the victims are currently being interviewed by the Rivers State Commissioner of Police as part of the ongoing investigation.
SP Grace Iringe-Koko assured that the case would be handled fairly and that further updates would be provided as investigations continued.
