Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated for the 2025 International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) Women’s World Best Goalkeeper Award, joining an elite list of ten contenders announced by the global football body.
The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) is an organisation that documents football history and statistics and publishes annual rankings and awards for players, clubs, and leagues. The awards recognise the best performers in football each year, based on votes from journalists and experts across more than 120 countries.
The 24-year-old, hailed as one of Africa’s most promising shot-stoppers, earned the recognition after an outstanding year for both Paris FC and the Super Falcons of Nigeria. Currently playing for Brighton & Hove Albion in the Women’s Super League, Chiamaka is the only African on the list of nominees.
She faces tough competition from some of the world’s top goalkeepers, including Ann-Katrin Berger (Germany/Gotham FC), Cata Coll (Spain/Barcelona), Hannah Hampton (England/Chelsea), and Christiane Endler (Chile/Lyon).
Other nominees include Daphne van Domselaar (Netherlands/Arsenal), Katharine Tapia (Colombia/Palmeiras), Lorena Leite (Brazil/Kansas Current), Phallon Tullis-Joyce (USA/Manchester United), and Jennifer Falk (Sweden/Häcken).
Results for the 2025 edition, including official rankings for goalkeepers, players, referees, and coaches, are expected to be announced in December 2025.
