Reality TV star and entrepreneur Tacha Akide has completed her Guinness World Record attempt for the longest makeup marathon. The feat showcased her creativity and excellence at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History in Lagos.
The marathon, which began on October 11 and ended triumphantly at 8:30 p.m. on October 12, 2025, saw Tacha and her team push through several challenges. These included a brief technical glitch and a mini power outage during the early hours of the attempt.
Despite the setback, Tacha completed makeovers on 145 models, both men and women. The lineup featured popular personalities such as Influencer Mitchy, Venita Akpofure, Wanni and Handi, representing diverse body types and skin tones.
The event also drew a large crowd of celebrities, influencers, and public figures who came out to show support. Notable attendees included Toke Makinwa, Dabota Lawson, Alex Unusual, Soma Anyama, Slimcase, Ice Prince, Egungun of Lagos, and Idris Aregbe, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism.
Each transformation was documented with professional headshots and runway showcases as part of the Tacha Beauty Festival, which served as the vibrant backdrop for the record bid.
Speaking at the event, Tacha expressed heartfelt gratitude to her fans, sponsors, and team members who made the challenge possible.
“This is not just about breaking a record—it’s about showing the world that Nigerian women can set the standard in any industry,” she said.
Having completed the marathon and compiled all required documentation, Tacha’s team has officially submitted materials to Guinness World Records for verification. Once confirmed, she will join the ranks of Nigerians who have earned global recognition for extraordinary achievements.
