Nigerian reality TV star and influencer Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Symply Tacha, is set to attempt a Guinness World Record (GWR) for the most makeovers completed within a day.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate revealed this in a social media video, announcing that the record bid will headline her upcoming beauty festival in Lagos.
“This is more than just a beauty festival, it’s a powerful convergence of culture, creativity, and national pride,” Tacha said. “We’re also spotlighting Nigeria’s booming beauty industry through training, exhibitions, and networking.”
The event is scheduled for October 10–12, 2025, at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History, Onikan. Beyond makeup artistry, the festival is positioned as a celebration of culture, creativity, commerce, and national pride within Nigeria’s fast-growing beauty industry.
Activities will include masterclasses, empowerment workshops, business sessions, exhibitions, and networking opportunities across makeup, skincare, fashion, haircare, and wellness. According to Tacha, the goal is to spotlight the Nigerian beauty sector’s potential as a driver of economic growth and global influence.
To secure the Guinness World Record, Symply Tacha must surpass the current holder, Sierra Leone’s Mary Yongai, who achieved 111 makeovers in 24 hours in Freetown on April 30, 2024.
For Tacha, who first gained fame as a social media influencer before rising to prominence on Big Brother Naija, the record attempt represents more than personal ambition.
“It’s about showing the world what Nigerians can do when creativity meets determination,” she said.
