A viral video shared online showed Jennifer Elobor, a corper being assaulted, berated, and stripped naked by members of the Agunechemba vigilante group in Anambra State.

A viral video shared online by the Haven 360 Foundation on Monday, August 18, 2025, captured armed members of the Agunechemba vigilante group in Anambra State. They were seen assaulting, beating, and stripping naked a corps member identified as Jennifer Edema Elobor.

The video showed Jennifer being beaten, stripped naked, and forcefully dragged to the waiting car of the vigilante men. The background voice of the video streamed her voice, who kept pleading with the men, using the word, ‘please, please, repeatedly. But the men continued beating Jennifer, tore her clothes, leaving her body exposed.

According to Haven 360 Foundation, the incident occurred on July 23, 2025, when the employees were accused of being Yahoo people.

“On July 23, 2025, these State actors stormed the corpers’ lodge, accusing the members of being yahoo people, despite their prompt production of NYSC identification cards and uniforms,” the Foundation’s statement reads.

The Haven 360 foundation condemned the assault on Jennifer Edema Elobor as especially brutal, noting that she was beaten, stripped, and left bloodied. It added that the victims also endured degrading abuse, including threats of sexual violence.

This incident is among the many cases of male violence against women in Nigeria. Naija Feminists Media reports it here.
